Our friends at TUCC are inviting folks to join them for a conversation with Dutch theologian and missiologist, Stefan Paas!No Cause for Despair: Finding Holy Joy and Vocation in the Midst of Secularization, see below for more details on how to join the conversation.TUCC invites you to join us for a conversation with Dutch theologian and missiologist, Stefan Paas!No Cause for Despair: Finding Holy Joy and Vocation in the Midst of Secularization will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2024: 10 am – 3 pm (ET). Attend in person at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church in Toronto or online via Zoom!Does the deep secularization of western societies mean that God has disappeared, or is it rather a path through which he leads his people to new discoveries, a new dependence on his grace? Join Dr. Stefan Paas, author and expert on church planting and mission, as he explores faithful responses to secularization. Two talks and accompanying breakout sessions will include material from his book Pilgrims and Priests: Christian Mission in a Post-Christian Society. Drawing on a wide range of practical insight with mission in one of the most secular contexts of the West, Dr. Paas blends his experience with a thorough analysis of relevant biblical, historical, sociological, theological, and spiritual sources that bear relevance to missional identity in the challenging circumstances presented by the secular West. He presents a hopeful perspective, rooted in a realistic appraisal of reality and rich theological reflections. The format of the day includes lectures and group work for participants in person or online (via Zoom) as well as lunch for those who gather in person. The cost for the in person session is $75 and lunch and snacks included. Or pay what you can to join online via Zoom (suggested amount - $25).Register now! churchx.ca/local/shop/catalog.php?id=29#secularization #theology #missional #stefanpaas #pilgrimsandpriests #christianity
